Minutes of the Board of Selectmen, Assessors & Overseers:

General Assistance Public Hearing Meeting:  Commenced at 12:00 noon

 

  1. The Board held the Public Hearing on adopting the General Assistance Ordinance Appendixes B.  George motioned to approve from April 1, 2009 to September 30, 2009; Brenda, 2nd; Vote 3-0.
  2. George motioned to adjourn the General Assistance Hearing at 12:05 pm. Ross, 2nd; Vote 3-0.

 

Board Meeting:  Commenced at 12:06 pm:

 

  1. The minutes of March 23, 2009 were reviewed. George moved to accept as written. Brenda, 2nd; Vote 3-0.
  2. Susan Blagden spoke on behalf of the Wiscasset Public Library. They have made a request of $9200 from the town this year, an increase of $1927 from last year’s donation of $7273. George suggested she attend town meeting to answer any questions the public may have.
  3. Bill Hopkins spoke of the intervention status of the Conservation Commission for the developing Riverbank Energy plans.  George motioned to continue to allow the Commission to represent the Town of Westport Island as an intervener with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission concerning the River Bank Wiscasset Energy Center, LLC,  Ross, 2nd; Vote 3-0.
  4. George motioned to approve the Tax Map Committee to update and maintain the Maine.gov site for Westport Island; Ross, 2nd; Vote 3-0.
  5. George moved to issue a certificate of abatement to Helen Stoodley for 2008 for Personal Property she was billed for twice; Ross, 2nd; Vote 3-0.
  6. George moved to temporarily appoint Roger Higgins EMA Director for the town; Ross, 2nd; Vote 3-0.
  7. George moved to approve Warrant No. 39 for $4732.59; Brenda, 2nd; Vote 3-0.
  8. George asked for input into ideas for the Town Hall Report cover.
  9. George moved to adjourn at 1:45 p.m., Brenda, 2nd; Vote 3-0
