BOARD OF SELECTMEN, ASSESSORS AND OVERSEERS MEETING

APRIL 26, 2010

 

Present:

 

Selectmen:  George D. Richardson Jr., Gerald A. Bodmer and Ross Norton

Citizens: John & Ruth Nelson

Guests: Charlotte Boynton of the Wiscasset Newspaper & John Maguire of the Lincoln County News

                                   

Meeting Commenced: 

1. George called the meeting to order at 12:10 p.m.

 

Business Conducted:

2. Warrant: The warrant was reviewed and George motioned to approve Warrant No.43 for

$11,643.05; Jerry, 2nd; vote: 3-0.

 

3. Minutes: The minutes of the April 19, 2010 meeting were reviewed. George motioned to accept as written; Ross, 2nd; vote: 2-0.  Jerry abstained as he was not present at the April 19th meeting.  

 

4. Citizens Issues: John and Ruth presented the Town Selectmen an American Flag that they wanted dedicated in honor of Bruce Pierce, and they discussed the idea of looking into the possibility of providing solar lighting for the flagpole at the head of the Island.

 

5. Supplemental Taxes: George motioned to send a 3 yr. Supplemental Tax bill as follows:

Marine Research & Development Corp           5/14           $161.14 for ramp & float

 

Ross seconded the motion; vote: 3-0

 

6. Appointments: George motioned to appoint the following:

            Cathy Fuller to the Board of Appeals to fill the vacancy left by Art Ballard

Paul Bonyun to the Board of Appeals as an alternate for 1 year

             Roger Higgins as Director of Emergency Management & Civil Defense for 1 year

            

    Ross seconded the motion; vote: 3-0

7. George moved to adjourn at 1:15 p.m.; Jerry, 2nd; vote: 3-0

 

 

Meeting Reconvened:

8. Ross motioned to reconvene at 1:43 p.m.; Jerry, 2nd; vote: 3-0

 

9. Minutes: The minutes of the April 12, 2010 meeting were reviewed. Jerry motioned to accept as written; Ross, 2nd; vote: 2-0.  George abstained because he was not present at that meeting.
