Board of Selectmen, Assessors and Overseers Meeting

May 9. 2011

1. BOS Meeting Commenced:

George called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.

 

Business Conducted:

2. Warrant: George motioned to approve Warrant #48, for a total of $3,547.17

 (Payroll - $451.60 and Payables - $3,095.57; Ross 2nd, vote 3-0

 

3. BOS Minutes:

 George motioned to accept the minutes of May 02, 2011 as written; Ross 2nd, vote 3-0

 

4. Citizen Issues:

Fire Chief Bob Mooney advised the BOS that he wanted permission to donate the 1982 fire truck (Engine 2) that is in disrepair and needs replacement, to the Regional 10 Vocational School in Brunswick. George motioned to allow Chief Mooney to strip off the usable parts for our other fire trucks and donate it with as little cost to the Town as possible; Jerry  2nd, vote 3-0

 

5. Town Road Grading:

 George motioned to allow the Road Commissioner permission to hire contractor Jack Shaw to continue to grade the Town Roads at a cost of $4,000 to be paid after Town Meeting; Ross 2nd, vote 3-0

 

6. Ferry Landing Sign & Street Pole Mirror:

Both projects are on hold pending further discussions and planning.

 

7. Town Clerk Committee Appointment Process:

The BOS reviewed Pam’s progress thus far and agreed that the “letter to the committee chairs” is OK as written but the ‘Committee Protocol” needs to have some additional comments. Jerry volunteered to discuss these comments with Pam.

 

8. Greenleaf Cove Association- Open Space Application:

George agreed to send a letter for May 22nd  requesting a meeting with the Association to clarify issues.

 

 9. Meeting Adjourned:

George moved to adjourn the meeting at 07:45 p.m.: Jerry 2nd, vote 3-0
