Meeting Commenced:
1. George called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m.
Business Conducted:
2. Warrant
No. 47 for $255,262.40 was reviewed. George moved approve; Brenda, 2nd;
vote: 3-0.
3. Minutes
for the May 15, 2007
meeting were reviewed. George moved to approve; Jack, 2nd; vote: 3-0.
4. Citizens’
Issues: Bill Cooney for the Town Hall
Committee reported:
- The
plumber will be at the Town Hall next Tuesday.
- The
Committee wanted to go on record that it would prefer that no paving be done
at the Town Hall, but if it had to be, then the south side was definitely
preferred.
5. Two
bids for site planning for the sand and salt shed were reviewed. George moved to accept the bid from Pine Tree
Engineering for $17,400. Jack seconded
the motion; vote: 3-0. (The bid from
Sebago Technics was $23,400.)
6. George
moved to approve the minutes of the May 18, 2007 emergency Board of Selectmen meeting; Brenda,
2nd; vote: 3-0.
7. George
moved to approve the minutes of the May 21, 2007 emergency Board of Selectmen meeting; Jack, 2nd;
vote: 3-0.
8. George
moved to set the public hearing for the citizens’ petition for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 9, 2007. Brenda seconded the motion; vote: 3-0.
9. On
June 5, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. at the Town Hall, there
will be a public information meeting concerning the ferry landing project.
10. The minutes
of the May 19, 2007
Board of Assessors meeting were reviewed.
Jack moved to accept; Brenda, 2nd; vote: 3-0.
11. Additional
Citizen’s Issues:
- John
Nelson - The Conservation Commission would like to know how much sand and
salt was used for the past few years.
- Marianne
Williams gave the Board a letter proposing a flag committee be formed to
research the correct size flag for the pole at the head of the island and
find a suitable replacement, take over the raising and lowering duties,
and look into nighttime lighting.
The idea seemed like it would fly.
George moved to table action on this proposal until other
interested people could be contacted.
Brenda seconded the motion; vote: 3-0.
