TOWN OF WESTPORT ISLAND

BOARD OF SELECTMEN, ASSESSORS AND OVERSEERS MEETING

JUNE 16, 2008

 

Present:

Board members: George D. Richardson, Jr., Brenda J. Bonyun and John B. Swanton

Citizens:   Dennis Dunbar and Barbara & Albert Greenleaf

Guests:    Charlotte Boynton of Wiscasset Newspaper  

 

Meeting Commenced:

George called the meeting to order at 7:08 p.m.  A quorum was present.

 

Business Conducted: 

  1. Warrant No. 51 for $168,162.81 was presented. George moved to accept; Brenda, 2nd; Vote 3-0.
  2. Minutes of the June 9, 2008 meeting were presented.  George moved to accept; Brenda, 2nd; Vote 3-0.

3.   The B.O.S. had asked Albert Greenleaf to meet with them to discuss safety concerns on Baker Road.  They asked Albert to work with the Road Commissioner to move rocks that are in the roadway to the side and to remove the trash cans.  Albert agreed to move things until the land dispute is settled.

4.   Dennis Dunbar brought it to the attention of the B.O.S. that the Warrant for Town Meeting did not have an article raising money for the Conservation Commission’s operating budget.  George moved to amend the warrant by adding the missing article as 14a.  Brenda seconded the motion; Vote: 3-0. The amendment will be posted by Dennis Dunbar.

5.   George moved to appoint Archie Bonyun to a 2 year term on the Planning Board; 

      Jack, 2nd; Vote: 3-0.

 

Meeting Adjourned:

      George moved to adjourn at 8:47 p.m.; Jack, 2nd; Vote 3-0.
